  1. Wish they would clean those dirty ass windows on the LIRR M7's. There are windows you can barely see out of on most of the LIRR M7 fleet, very annoying. Anyway, nice to hear that the M7s are doing good mechanically.
  2. WTF, the Queens bound train I'm on at 36th street got there seven minutes early.. was held at 36th from 4:10 to 4:17, it's scheduled departure time...
  3. That bus has an CAT C13 engine. Perhaps Caterpillar has an maintenance shop out in LI somewhere.
  4. The is a long line and IIRC the doesn't have any layups after the AM Rush... that plus the cars are getting old equals dropping MDBF is my theory.
  5. http://thejoekorner.com/carassignments/index.html According to that link the uses 7 sets of 46s daily but it hasn't been updated since 2018.. It probably varies from day to day, especially considering that JAM recently got some 46s from the line... Personally it feels like a lot more than 7 sets run on the as of late
  6. Those new Novas at Flatbush are probably loans, I doubt the TA wants to continue stocking parts for three different bus fleets at FLA (Orions, Novas and Flyers) . When its all said and done the Artic fleet at FLA will most likely be 100% XD60s. As a busfan I wish theses new Novas would stay at FLA along with the XD60s but logically I don't think it will happen.
  7. The TA won't need new artics for quite a while considering that on average the TA keeps buses for at least 15 years, and the oldest artic currently in the fleet is from 2010.
  8. If it was an 142A then it was probably going to or from 207th street shop for work..
  9. This isn't really that bad to me, I'm mainly talking about the exterior "damage" (the 5th pic to be exact). ENY has some buses like that and their maintenance is good..
  10. SC always gets loaned hybrids from time to time, their probably short C40s for whatever reason. Always thought they should have an small batch of hybrids so they don't have to keep getting loaned buses.
  11. Surprised at how much excitement this is generating in the railfan community, the train has been going express unofficially from Jay to Church and vice versa for quite some time now. Not to mention G.O's, I'm sure most railfans ridden a train on those tracks prior to today. Last week during a service disruption I rode an R68A train that went over the Culver express from Jay to Church.
  12. Simple. Lefferts riders don't wanna ride an local train to Manhattan.
  13. Just rode them. Nice cars quieter and smoother than the M7s...
  14. This morning either an or broke down at High street which caused an smoke condition from the equipment under the car body... anybody know what car class it was?
  15. There was an 2002 MCI from either CP or BP in service today, saw it in the distance from 34th but knew it was an 02 unit cause of the rear green sign and tail lights setup. Nice to see the old Detroit's in service on a holiday weekend!
  16. Maintenance? I remember reading on here that JG doesn't receive diesel fuel anymore and can only refuel CNG buses... the Metrocard RTS's get refueled elsewhere I remember reading. From an Maintenance prospective, are the XD60s and XN60s that much different? I personally seen an UP RTS (Back when they still around) get road called then get driven to FLA to get repaired. So an depot fixing another depot's buses isn't far fetched.
  17. The has tracks that connects to the line at Broadway Junction, the connects with the at Queensboro Plaza. R143s were delivered at 207th street yard from the Kawasaki plant in Yonkers. 188s IDK.
  18. There is no direct track connection between the two, a train would have to go into Linden Yard (Or near it) and change ends to go on the line from the and only work trains can do this as Linden Yard leads don't have 3rd rail. While were on this topic, crazy no railfan has footage of a train traveling from either the or lines into Linden Yard.
  19. That last question, you never had a paper subway map before? I used to love collecting those as a kid to look at all the routes & connections. Not to be rude but dude, you could just look at a subway map to answer your last question, it's also online on MTA.info.
  20. Used the Juilus St - Livonia Av transfer today and my goodness the train entrance is COVERED in bird poop, that entrance needs a good wash. The overpass over the Bay Ridge branch makes an nice railfan spot, there's an abandoned locomotive visible from the overpass.
  21. Today I rode the BX26 for the first time today, love that route. I slept on GH 40FT routes the 26, 28 & 38 are all decent to fan. 30 is cool but the headways too long for my liking. The issue for me when fanning GH routes is they are so far away from BK, GH territory mostly covers the northern half on the BX and riding up there from BK is tedious. I wanna fan the BX35, been on it before but I wanna ride it one last time before it gets converted to artic but the train takes forever to get up there.
  22. Yesterday, 3563 (The lone diesel Orion at JFK) was on the 1 shuttle. Buses from four different borough's was working the 1/2/3 shuttle yesterday, QNS was repped by MTA Bus LGA/BP and JFK. Even SC was working the shuttle yesterday.
