  1. An 68 train in service at 2AM!? I would imagine an 68 N train running in service during the overnight hours is pretty rare these days.
  2. Probably a noob who doesn't know all the stops yet. If I was an C/R it would take me a while to memorize stops. If someone put an gun to my head to told me to name all the stops on the line N/B in the BX I'd be a dead man. 149th GC, 3rd Ave, Jackson Ave, after that mind goes blank😄
  3. Yes, all those cars will be retired once the 211s replace them.
  4. Yep. Always nice to see those side by side along with seeing 179 & trains side by side. Especially considering those two lines were dumping grounds for old equipment for most of my life prior to the 179s entering service.
  5. TBH I don't think OP complaint is that bad, the complaints about NTT announcements in the subway subforum is just as silly and nobody says anything so...
  6. In reply to the discussion about MTA buses being used in movies. IIRC an old look bus was used in a recently filmed movie, saw it on Reddit a while back but can't find the pic... However I did find this pic of what is most likely museum Fishbowl 100 being used for an movie shoot.. They also once used museum bus 5227 in a parade about two years ago. From I seen recently they usually use Cuomo XD40 for parades (the bus reps the TWU in the parades).
  7. I just was on an 32 train that got taken OOS cause the T/O wasn't getting indication. Sucks as the train was crush loaded.. That and I had gotten an 32 both ways traveling to my destination. Only for the train home to crap out at Canal St. Still like the 32s though.
  8. Forgot to post this, but 7780 (A XD40 that is not SBS wrapped) was on the 82 SBS yesterday, for anybody who cares lol
  9. The got it's 142 batch last.. The got them first, then the and finally the .
  10. GCT is in the heart of the CBD where's Lex/63rd is not, most ppl would still have to transfer to the subway to get to their jobs.
  11. Kinda bummed Prevost won that express bus order, was hoping for MCIs. In a perfect world the 50 for NYCT would be that redesigned new MCI and the MTA Bus units would be CT's similar to the ones NJT are getting, but with MTA specs. I will admit those Prevosts are gonna look fly in the Cuomo scheme with the headlight redesign. Can't wait until SC gets these so I see them on the BM2, that is if they even IS a BM2 by the time this order starts with the way these route redesigns are going.
  12. The ex FP buses that went to the JFK/FR & ENY are pretty good IMO, they just have dirty windows making them seem worse than they are. As an Passenger other than the windows I have no complainants about those ex FP buses.
  13. Didn't read the whole thread but skimmed though it, I normally don't post in these threads as they are not cup of tea, and I don't live in the BX, but I saw this thread was labeled "hot" so I came in to see what the fuss is about. Anyway RIP to off peak BK service on the SC express routes if the Bronx ones are being cut this bad. I thought the most of the Bronx expresses were well used off peak, especially compared to the BM's. Weird they added a whole new off peak express route in SI (SIM 2 which got cut and later on SIM33) but BX expresses are getting gutted.
  14. Sadly, no. It was an MCI though and only knew when to get off thanks to the automated announcement system. I was planning a little fantrip, I'll probably take the train from NYC to Newark and just take the 76 from NWK Penn to Hackensack since I never been on the 76 before and already rode both Hackensack - GWB routes. Then take the NJT route 83 to Journal Square and take PATH back to NY.
  15. Do any of the PABT - Hackensack routes actually stop inside the Hackensack bus terminal? I remember I rode an route out of PA that that went to Hackensack but didn't stop at the terminal.
  16. Very informative video. We don't hear about subway car maintenance too often.
  17. Ehh IDK how to feel about this, it has the same power train as the C40s do so there isn't much of an difference from a fan POV. Catching 3563 on the Green Lines routes was fun cause it was the lone diesel bus in a sea of hybrids. I do love the power that 3563 has so I guess I'd hope to catch it on the B103 one of these days. Kinda wish they sent SC a hybrid instead though.
  18. Rode an 179 to Lefferts... Was gonna ride that back to BK but when my 179 A pulled into Lefferts, an 32 was on the other track, change of plans lol Loving the diversity on the & lines these days.
  19. Is it me or there has been a lot less SMEE's on the lately? Couple days ago all I saw was 160s and today only one 68 set, I wonder what's up. When the first came back it had 4 sets of SMEE's assigned to it, recent days you'd hard pressed to find an non NTT on the & lines...
  20. 3563 (the lone diesel Orion 7) just passed me deadheading to the B100, still has JFK stickers.
  21. I seen a B6 short turn to Nostrand Ave just now starting at Rockaway Parkway.. However it was an UP bus. Took me back to when I was an kid and FLA operated the B6 short turns, even though those short turns stopped short of my school I preferred them cause they were less crowded than the regular B6 runs. During rush hour their was an diverse amount of RTSs on the B6, GMCs, TMCs with both series 92 and repowered 50 EGR engines, and the 96 and 99 batches of Nova RTSs, good times. This was in the early 2000s BTW.
  22. Nope... ENY doesn't regularly clean the glass of the ends of the cars like CI does. On ENY units all kinds of dirt and grime is on the end windows that you can't see into the next car.
  23. Today I rode a fast C40 out of JG, I thought that entire fleet was nerfed due to LBSS or w/e its called. Still the fastest C40 rides I had so far were on the old ones with the S50G... One thing I noticed about fast Cummins buses with power is they jerk back when the operator takes their foot off of the gas pedal, the DD50 powered buses were smoother in this regard.
