  1. A few months ago I rode an train where someone threw glitter all over the floor... R46 with the light cover broken...
  2. 3926 was probably getting towed someplace to get work done. Years ago I seen an privately owned tow truck tow an OG Hybrid from BP Depot to who knows where. In JFK Airport there's an garage with a bunch of Orion hybrids from various depots getting work done.
  3. 3397 is one of the R32s at Canarsie yard, I got a pic of it from my phone but my phone is a POS so I might not be able to post it.
  4. Some of the R179 sets are stored at Ave X yard where the trains normally lay up. Also there's R32s in CI inspection shop, not the overhaul shop but the shop where cars assigned to CI Yard get serviced. These are probably the R32s they use on the garbage train I assume.
  5. Yes, for storage. BTW its not the same R32 set that's stored on the upper Level at ENY Yard.
  6. lol there's an R32 set stored at Canarsie Yard.
  7. R142A did.. I remember someone linking an article on here about the R142A being pulled from service when they was new due to problems. Prior to the R179s I think many ppl would agree the R142A was easily the worst NTT car class we had...
  8. The B/O opens the rear door and riders enter the bus though the back door. There's enough space for ppl to do this even if two buses are parked right next to one another. I watched ppl board a bus while I was there.
  9. Today the B42 I rode was so crowded that ppl got flagged.. this was in the afternoon off peak too. Went to 165th terminal to see how ppl are boarding the buses.. there is enough space between lanes for ppl to board though the rear door.
  10. There's two sets of R179 stored at Canarsie Yard, one of them is signed up as the
  11. Pikin probably doesn't have the parts to maintain and work on the R160s. I don't think 18th Ave has a crew room, so for that reason alone I don't think trains can turn there. They could turn them at Church Ave, I think they did that when the Culver EL stations were getting rehabbed.
  12. The TA shutting down the system every night for cleaning has made me feel much more comfortable riding the system during the pandemic. Also, they are now giving away hand sanitizer at the token booths in the subway. Also, my personal observation, there's defiantly an uptick in causal riders using the system, some trains are even SRO. Today, the first few cars of an Far Rock I saw pull into Broadway Junction was SRO... and this was 2PM in the afternoon! No way all those ppl was essential workers. I'm seeing a lot of teenagers and such riding the system, even whole families like kids with their mother, etc. When I rode out to Far Rock today there was some ppl in Beach attire waiting at Broad Channel for the shuttle to Rock Park, so ppl are heading to the beach even during the pandemic. While I haven't seen Showtime dancers in a while, there's still beggers on the subway, today some author was selling his books on the train. As for railfans still fanning even during the pandemic... I can see why fans will come out to fan R160 trains since that's pretty rare and something different. But fanners who been fanning regularly the whole time since the pandemic started  Prior to the 179s being pulled from service for a second time, the car assignments and such were pretty much the same as they were before the pandemic, so their really wasn't a reason to be on the Subway if you didn't have to. Perhaps those fanners are addicted to buses and trains like a drug fiend.
  13. Temporary, eventually, the will need those cars back for full restoration of service and CBTC.
  14. Rock Park rush hour specials are back, I'm on one right now, surprisingly, it's a R160 set.
  15. Rode an Asltom Onix 160 over the flats, according to my GPS it topped out at 49 MPH.
  16. Nothing will happen if you go on the bus and is not an essential worker, well on the local and SBS at least, not sure about Express buses. I've riding the bus quite a few times since the pandemic started and I'm not by any means a essential worker.
  17. Every NTT fleet has spares, I'm sure when they did those C/J summer swaps 207th did not run every single R160 they had in service at once. I wouldn't be surprised if Pikin shop is filled up with R46s getting inspected & getting worked on. Between the 179s being pulled from service a second time and the 160s being transferred to the , the R46s were single handily holding down the fort on the and lines, so Pikin probably fell behind on inspections. Thus, many 46 sets are not available for service.
  18. Does anybody know if the Eagle Team still does inspections ever since the local buses became free? Yes, I know you still gotta pay on SBS but if nobody is enforcing that fare.... I try to avoid the SBS only because the machines you put your Metrocard in are garbage and there's a good chance your card will get messed up using those machines. Somewhat related, I know of someone (pre pandemic) who farebeated on the SBS and the eagle team cought him, when the eagle team took off of the bus, he took off running! They didn't bother to chase him so he pretty much got away with it LMAO
  19. Yesterday I walked over the West Side Yard and only saw M7's and Dual modes in the yard. No M3's so I assume they are still in storage? I believe the M9 have have returned to service though as it seems like someone on Reddit recently rode one.
  20. You can see the R179 set that broke apart in CI yard from the Belt Parkway, and probably the train too.
  21. Today I seen an R46 train with LED headlights, that's a first.
  22. Partial close was done at Rockaway Parkway on the today.
  23. According to subway time and MTA. Info, the is running for the PM rush so I guess they'll send out 32 for the PM rush? Then again, correct me if I'm wrong, ENY only sent two sets of 160s to 207, so they probably can make service without using the 32s.
  24. There was no train in front of us, I was waiting at 59th for a few minutes before the train came. I got on at 59th Street. For your second question, I don't know.
