  1. I know, but this is the first time I seen trains layed at 111th middle midday during the week.
  2. Wally is obsessed with tinkering with the train.... over the years he suggested it be sent to Forest Hills, 96th, 145th and now Bay Ridge-95th street. Leave the line alone, Middle Village, Ridgewood residents don't want the brown back.
  3. ENY yard must be running out of space cause... one 32 is laid up between Crescent and cypress and two are layed up at 111th.
  4. I think only the south shore is pro cop, the north shore, not so much. Especially considering Eric Garner died not too from far from where this trouble maker is throwing things at buses.
  5. JUST missed a 12-9 at 72nd, got there before the first responders did. Female T/O is crying and is distraught. BTW I was at Riverside Park and stumbled upon this by accident.. All kinds of FDNY dudes here. No idea if the person is alive or deceased. They just kicked everybody out of 72nd S/B, now I gotta head over to CPW or hop on the M5 bus.
  6. There's only two DeKalb Ave bound B46s on the entire route, never thought I'd see the limited/SBS B46 only have two buses in one direction in the middle of the afternoon ..
  7. Are you sure that bus isn't working the shuttle? There is a shuttle bus G.O over the WillyB this weekend
  8. Has anybody noticed that the Long Beach branch has an two hour gap in service E/B in the middle of the afternoon on weekdays? I know LIRR service isn't fully restored but it seems odd to cut the 1:58 out of Penn to Long Beach...
  9. Wow, my 82 SBS took a little over a half hour to travel from the first stop in Bensonhurst to the Rockaway Parkway station. Ride was about an half hour quicker than I expected it to be😁 One of the best SBS rides I ever had... Also for some reason SC MCI 3348 was parked across the street from the Chase bank at the junction along with a C40 that's usually parked there. I wonder why an MCI was parked there today, I don't even know why C40s be parked in that spot.... Especially considering the B103 doesn't do driver reliefs AFAIK.
  10. There was one who posted here in the early stages of the R179 order and told us about overzealous railfans calling Pikin Yard to see if the 179s were coming out for testing that day... and railfans who weren't TA employees straight up going to the security booth at Pikin asking if they could see the 179s. I wonder how much transitbuff f***ery that happens that never makes it to forums or Facebook...
  11. I'd say this is a mix NYC railfans not volunteering at those Trolley museums like shore line, etc. The Subway cars at those museums is maintained by volunteers and that's how one would get inner knowledge of how subway cars work. That, and people work in Car Equipment and the mechanics who work on buses at depots rarely ever post on forums. Most buffs who want to work for transit apply for the same three job titles ( T/O C/R or B/O ) and posters who work in transit who post on forums usually work those same three job titles as well lol
  12. The Rosie Perez announcements are done on the PA systems in the stations, not on the trains. Just heard them at some of the C line stops in BK. Here's an article about it.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2020/07/20/rosie-perez-says-do-the-right-thing-and-wear-a-mask-in-new-mta-ad/amp/
  13. I ride ENY buses regularly and I see little to no vandalism on the buses. None of the BK depots have that problem from what I seen.
  14. GH buses, especially the artics interiors get trashed by riders far worse than any other depot from personal observation IMO. I suspect riders will try and vandalize the dispensers and if they hold up, then they could last on any other routes in the city.
  15. Their will be a pilot program where masks dispensers will be put on buses on the SBS fleet out of... Gun Hill! Cool that GH buses get such an fancy upgrade, that and they will be exposed to the harshest operating environment in the NYC bus system. If masks dispensers can survive the BX12 & 41 SBS, they can survive anywhere!
  16. Rosie Perez might be the new voice doing PSA announcements on the NTT or buses, the news wasn't specific on which one it would be or both. PSA's would be about covid-19..
  17. This past weekend CP was still running those 2002 MCI's on Saturday AND Sunday. I don't remember what they was numbered, I just knew they was the 02 units cause of the green signs. Perhaps 2817 & 2902 was too far gone mechanically to keep in service.
  18. R46 5489 is stuck in the deferred maintenance era as half of the car is dark with some of the lights flicking on and off AND the A/C is broke.
  19. The R160s was running in optimal condition once the 38s and Slants were retired. Early on in the 160 order... At one point ALL of the Siemens 160's had to be sidelined due some kind of issue they had and 40 Slants took their place on the until the issue was resolved. I was quite happy about that as it allowed me to get bonus rides of the 40 Slant on the 😁 Even then, the Slants had a stint on the and after that and once that issue for the Siemens 160 was resolved it was pretty much smooth sailing for the R160 order from there on out. They also kept R40M in storage at Concourse after retirement.
  20. A couple of weeks ago I seen an Audi RS3 parked on the street and I love the design of that car.... The Dodge Cummins Diesel is my favorite pickup truck, forgot to post it in my OP. Its dope that has the Cummins logo on the side of the truck too. For those who are wondering, these trucks don't have an ISL lol, they have a much smaller Cummins engines suitable for pickup trucks.
  21. Never seen this photo before, I've seen a photo of an M1 & R44 side by side but never facing off.... Found this photo on twitter.
  22. TWO BX6 locals showed up before one BX6 SBS came, the local variant of an SBS route showing up back to back before an SBS bus shows up? That has to be an first.
  23. There's no space and most, if not all of those Lower Manhattan-NJ routes are rush hour, peak direction only.
  24. One of the train sets broke down and had to be taken OOS, maybe said train set was stuck which forced them to single track between Myrtle and Met... hence that long headway.
