  1. The real mystery is weather Manttanville will get Nova or Flyer hybrids, as we all know the depot is 100% Orion so it can go ethier way. Manhattanville is the new Ulmer Park in terms of going long stretches without getting new equipment. UP went from 1997 until 2010 without getting new local buses. The 5th & Madison Ave corridors is gonna look fly in a few years with Prevosts on the BXM routes and new local hybrids on the MTV routes.
  2. Today I got to ride in the first R142 car ever made, car 6301. Only rode for stop, the interior seems to have held up pretty good.
  3. The prevost demo bus is on the BXM2, Its is or was on layover right in the open near 34th Street
  4. Eagle team is out and about along the M14 today...
  5. Today at Flushing Ave on the there was a crackhead injecting a needle into his arm while sitting on the steps within fare control. This was the recently reopened entrance at Flushing Ave so no fare booth there.
  6. Just saw on CBS2 news that fare collection will resume on August 31st. TA had an press conference at Quill about fare collection resuming. Museum bus 2185 was used as an backdrop.
  7. Might not be. The mechanics was trying to fix whatever was wrong with the bus
  8. 3978 needs some TLC, one of its front headlights is out and its sputtering, didn't ride the bus but saw and heard it when it passed me on the street a couple hours ago. It's still out on the B82 in Coney Island right now.
  9. My father did that when I was a kid and lived in another part of Canarsie. Get off the Belt at the Rockaway Parkway exit, and take side streets to where we lived which was near South Shore HS rather than take Rockaway Parkway to Flatlands Ave.
  10. They are. The R160 are faster than all of the remaining B div SMEE trains. SMEE's were faster back when they had field shunting, but that was removed from the cars after the WillyB crash.
  11. Rode the NJ Transit XD60 for first time today, and man they run circles around MTA XD60s. I was surprised at how fast and smooth they accelerate, reminded me of the first time I rode the then LIB 1700 Orions. Sound wise they sound like the NICE bus XN40s. It's funny, the newest MTA XD60s and the NJT units have the same powertrain (Cummins L9/Allison) yet they sound different. So for those who are disappointed that New Flyer XD buses are invading every bus operation in the Tri State, there's some variety when it comes to sound at the very least. The MTA XD60s do seem to handle pot holes better and such, NJT XD feel like they will end up being rattle traps soon.
  12. I'm surprised the NTT don't have pre recorded announcement telling people to wear a mask... PATH has an automated announcement about wearing a mask on their PA5's.
  13. Apparently the cops was having a police chase with a car which lost control and thus causing that massive accident with the bus. A lot of idiots with cars round here, always idiots speeding and driving souped up cars that they make extra loud with mods. I hate that part of car culture, speeding on residential streets and extra loud cars, loud cars that are modded to be louder than they normally is is so corny to me.
  14. 10 ppl were injured, there's video in the link below.. https://citizen.com/-MEdsI6Ldzi5VjnESXrr
  15. Rode by 207th today on the , there's R32 cars signed up as the in the yard so ENY sent some cars back. Maybe inspection of the 32s is split between 207th and ENY since the one fleet 207th maintains (8 car R179s assigned to the ) isn't running at the moment. IIRC, all the A/C line R46s are inspected at Pikin.
  16. They will come back. And yea, they can fix flat wheels. During the fall when the leaves fall, flat wheels is common.
  17. Surprised nobody posted this yet, but the LIRR M3's are back in service since that tropical storm we had caused a lot of flat wheels on the M7 & M9 fleets. I don't think the entire remaining M3 fleet was reactivated, just a small amount of cars.
  18. Outside of Crescent - Cypress, Alabama - Broadway Junction both ends of Myrtle Ave and the WillyB most of the outdoor portion of the is straight trackage with no timers. If I had to choose I'd say 104th N/B and 111th S/B... the train gets assistance from gravity at those stops due having go over the LIRR ROWS.
  19. They probably don't cross honor because some B/O's aren't aware of the LIRR service change that allows cross honoring... When LIRR cross honors for NYCT G.O many times the LIRR C/R isn't aware of the cross honor...
  20. I haven't seen R160s on the since it had those two sets from ENY. I seriously doubt there's 11 sets of 160s running on the ..... would be nice If there was 11 sets on the though lol. R160 have great A/C where 46s A/C is very hit or miss with more misses..... NTT HAVC's are lovely this time of year, prefer the SMEEs during the spring/fall/winter though.
  21. There was plans to turn the abandoned SIR North Shore branch into a BRT route but IDK what happened with that. I'd rather that corridor become a light rail route than a bus BRT though, since NYC doesn't have a LR route the North Shore line is the best shot of getting one.
  22. Yes, but the social distance stickers are yellow.
  23. Taken yesterday Taken today. New direct entrance to One Vanderbilt, peep that it says LIRR on the sign (ESA is coming soon!)
