  1. It passed me a few minutes before I made my post.
  2. I JUST seen an R179 track testing on the right now, passed us between Woodhaven and 104th street going Manhattan bound, there's papers on the windows, probably the "test train not in service" signs. 3111 was the number of one of the cars IIRC
  3. I saw on the news that some dude assaulted two traffic safety officers. Eagle team gonna have their hands full with the SBS routes, especially considering that NYPD isn't bothering with farebeaters on the subway these days. So farebeaters aren't going to take kindly to these Eagle Team people trying to enforce the fare...
  4. They have mostly been sitting idle for months, burn testing them again to see if there's any issues, etc, before reentering service.
  5. I know that, why is y'all making such a big deal about this? Ol sheldon cooper ass posters.
  6. I know they are wearing bulletproof vests. On TV Shows and movies detectives usually aren't wearing their vests outside their suits searching for evidence after a crime has happened. So it was weird for me to see them wearing the vests as I rarely ever see detectives in real life.
  7. Speaking of cops wearing vests, when someone on my block got killed in a hit and run, the day after two detectives searching the area came wearing their vests outside of their dress clothes, thought that was odd.
  8. Some buses are showing "Fares Required" on their destination signs, I seen it on JAM and QV buses today..
  9. New mobile Command Center bus? The current one is an old RTS with an series 92 engine. Perhaps they want to replace it with something newer and cleaner emissions? I do NOT want that RTS replaced I'm just speculating... Then again IDK if it's possible to convert LF buses for such usage as they have less space in the interior than HF buses. With OMNY on the way I assume that Metrocard buses would be obsolete once metrocards are phased out for good. So it can't be an metrocard bus it's being converted too.
  10. I've ridden the BX1/2 plenty of times, whenever I think of routes that duplicate subway lines the B25 and Q56 first come to mind as I live in BK and is around those routes more often than the BX1/2.
  11. Crazy how popular the B25 and Q56 are, given that they parallel subway routes their whole route. They was popular even before the pandemic.
  12. A few weeks ago I posted about an defective R46 car I rode in where the lights didn't work nor did the A/C work. Here's some pics, they was taken from an phone so bare with me.. it was actually a pretty cool experience..
  13. Pics of 0023 from a couple days ago A rare sight (well to me at least) two Staten Island MCI's back to back, as we all know, Prevosts dominate the SI express fleet with an iron fist so it was pretty cool to see two MCI's back to back...
  14. There was a time briefly in the late 2000s where the was 100% R46 cause the R32s A/C units was breaking down like crazy and the R46 were more reliable. That was a fun, cool throwback to the pre GOH 46s which was common on the
  15. They still ain't catch the guy?! Chief Wiggum must be on the case
  16. LOL why does this bus have an lighting bolt next to the hybrid logo? I always thought this Nova/Prevost facility in NJ was deep in an industrial area that's next to impossible to reach by public transit. Hence fanner f***ery never occurring there like at the New Flyer facility in JFK. But from that video it looks like this facility is in a regular neighborhood.
  17. What's funny is the behind the I rode was an R32. Also it appears there's a 3rd 4 car set of R179 at ENY. 307x (forgot the last digit) it was really shiny like it got deep cleaned. Seen an recently filmed video of R179 being transferred from CI to Pikin, hopefully these are signs the R179 will return to service soon.
  18. Surprisingly, one of the intervals today was an R143. I thought they would try and keep the runs 100% R32 but I guess not. I don't ride the everyday so IDK how common it is Also it seems like the 5:04 run didn't run today, showed up on the countdown clock but the train itself never showed up. An R160 came, passed it up for the next run which was an R143, the digital sign on the front of the train was broke as it was blank, I thought it was an NIS train at first.
  19. At Ave J on the on the Manhattan bound platform, the countdown clock is showing the train as stopping there when it's clearly running express smh lol
  20. I rode that set and didn't realize it was an mixed set until the Siemens half of the train went past me after I got off. There was no noticable difference in ride quality, surprisingly.
  21. I figured it had something to do with Covid. Guess I'll try to avoid riding the bus until the weather cools down. The subway has most of the cars windows closed with the A/C on and there hasn't been a major spike in Covid cases since ridership went up. There's also plenty of buses with the windows closed with the A/C on and there hadn't been a spike in cases... Oh well, it is what it is.
  22. Why do some B/O's have all the windows open on their bus on hot and humid days when the A/C works perfectly fine???? I don't mind this during the spring and fall but all the windows open on a hot summer day? Come on man. To think there's buffs out there that think that every trip you make should be via public transportation riding transit can often be a miserable experience, especially the bus. I wish that I had a car so I could drive to an destination with the A/C blasting but here I am on a stupid ass bus where the A/C is not allowed to work properly. A little frustrated and had to vent.
  23. If Shawn is talking about 2014-15 XD40s, it isn't far fetched that most BK ops don't like them. In terms of the way they run they are geared the worst compared to the 4800s and the Cuomo scheme buses. Fresh Pond and LGA seems to be the only depots that has 2014-15 XD40s with quick acceleration, they feel that way from a passenger prospective at least. There was even a 2014-15 unit out on a FP hawk run a couple nights ago, I'd imagine hawk ops get to choose what bus they pull out since most of the buses are in the garage once they start their runs. With that being said, I don't think buses should be transfered from BK just because BK ops don't like them, if BK ops don't like them, then Queens ops probably won't like them ethier!
  24. B42 isn't used that much!?! The route is very well used, SRO buses OFF PEAK and Weekends is common, I've gotten flagged on the B42 multiple times. I live along the route, trust me it's very well used.
