  1. Hope it runs well on that route. Especially considering that they seem to avoid using Orion hybrids on the B15. Orions were common on the B15 until recently, its seems like its always 100% New Flyer these past couple of months.
  2. All they have to do is remove the SBS wrap from the 2018 units and then they could run on any FLA local route, its puzzling why they haven't removed the SBS wraps from those buses. Before the 6500s started getting retired and everything got crazy FLA had around 90-100 XD40s. I assume once this XDE order is complete, those buses sent to ENY to replace their 65/6600s will go back to the depots they came from.
  3. ENY has plenty of OGs at that depot whole FLA oldest buses are the NGs, so ENY should get them over FLA, and this coming from someone whose favorite depot is Flatbush. Also fleet age has to be balanced, MTV really got screwed as yet another batch of new buses skips over that depot. IMO FLA has been treated well by the DOB over the years when it comes to new buses. Plenty of new buses came to that depot since they first got the 3900 hybrids.
  4. I think the R211 hasn't been delivered yet is because Kawasaki probably isn't finished doing whatever it is they do with the train before delivery. State of Nebraska is probably having a hard time with covid which is probably delaying things. Also the MTA has received new buses since the pandemic started so I doubt Kawasaki is just sitting on the train until covid ends or a vaccine comes out or whatever.
  5. For some reason 7630 from Flatbush is parked at Rockaway Parkway terminal..
  6. Theres a hybrid (4220) on the B15! First time in a while I seen an hybrid on the B15, it seems like recently ENY tries to keep the route 100% XD40. BTW 4220 is the only hybrid on the route.
  7. I know the PBL did full wraps... perhaps that photo was taken right after the takeover and the MTA didn't bother to remove the wrap right away.
  8. Man ever since the 6500/6600s been retired in the masses the BK division has been a mess going by that depot transfer thread. All the non CNG depots in BK are sending buses all over the borough. Those 6500s must have been in bad shape mechanically for them to rush their retirement like this. I thought they would stick around considering one of them was photographed getting worked on at a vendor over the summer.
  9. Suphtin Blvd and Parsons Archer on the reopened today, however only one pocket track is open at Parsons and it feels like an slow speed order is in place between Van Wyck and Stuphtin in both directions. IDK why they didn't just keep the cut back to Van Wyck until the track reconstruction was 100% complete? Also some trains are rerouted to 179th via the express tracks on Hillside in both directions, if anybody is interested in riding that stretch of track...
  10. Like 10+ years ago, QV had them when new then UP got them in like 09, stayed at Ulmer for a few years then they went to SI where they've been ever since.
  11. Well, growing up as an 90s baby in Brooklyn, if you was into the bus side of this hobby you had no choice but to like the RTS as that's all BK had until JG got C40s, I still remember being excited about orginal C40s when they debuted. JG had about 30 or so Orion Vs since the mid 90s until 2010 or so but they was VERY rare, I never saw one in my elementary years back then. The only other bus I remember seeing was MCI classics on the BM's. If you didn't live along a Command bus express route then you never saw them.
  12. I think those cutaway vans use diesel fuel, so NICE can fuel diesel buses. They also had MCIs when it was still LIB for LIRR shuttle use.
  13. Got one on the without trying today, man I was so happy to get that R179 train, HAVC had the air comfort nice and comfy and the train was fast. I was getting sick and tired of riding those damn R46s on the all the time, garbage HAVC on those cars. I was on one where it was humid INSIDE the car, yuck. I wish their was 20 ten car R179 sets rather than 13 so one would have close to an 50 percent chance of getting one on the
  14. Yuck, I'd rather them buy used REAL buses than use a damn cutaway van on the N22. If they struggling to make service then maybe NICE should consider buying some MTA 6500s until they receive new buses. MTA gave the PBL hand me down RTS's BEFORE the takeover happened. I remember riding them on the Q40 which was a Green Lines route. If not the MTA then maybe some other transit agency recently retired buses.
  15. Hale and MTV gotta get an piece of this XDE/LFS HEV pie IMO. The vast majority of Hale's 40FT buses are 12+ years old and those 66/6700s are next up for retirement.
  16. In regards to the NYCT and SIR differences discussion, the signal system is different. SIR uses cab signaling wheres NYCT uses wayside signaling. There was once plans to send R46 to SIR but they would have to be modified with the cab signaling equipment to run there. This one is a guess on my part, but it seems like the SIR R44s still have field shunting installed wheres it was removed from all NYCT SMEE cars that was active after the WillyB crash. SIR 44's accelerate far faster than any of the SMEEs in NYCT. You can walk between cars on SIR even though it uses 75 footers, this can't be done on NYCT due to sharp curves.
  17. One of the 8600 5 car set R160's with unique blue lighting is on the today.... First time riding one of these sets, always seen them in passing, but never rode on them.
  18. Yikes, and the isn't running in BK ethier due to a G.O.
  19. They'll probably replace the R68s with an all open gangway fleet, if the R211 opengang test train is successful. Probably will have a new contract number yet to be named. BTW this is just speculation on my part...
  20. Nope. SIR is separate from NYCT. NYCT crews can't pick SIR runs and vice versa...
  21. They took them all out of service when the pandemic started, but brought back a handful of cars when a bunch of M7 & 9's got flat wheels after that tropical storm. I haven't seen anything posted anywhere about the small amount of M3 that came back being mothballed again.
  22. M9s are easy to find at Penn during rush hour. I got an M9 on the Port Wash branch on a Sunday over the summer, and on the Babylon branch on a Saturday without trying, just got lucky. M3s are the hardest to find as there's only like 30 cars active and they seem to limit their usage as LIRR riders hate them. Out of all the transit agencies in the area, I never seen an ridership base show disdain for equipment like LIRR riders do the M3s.
  23. I just realized that when the suburban XD60s come, that will be the closest thing NYC Tri State area will have to an LF transit bus with "coach bus" features (reclining seats, reading lights, etc). Can't wait until the surbuban artics arrive.
  24. 2002 MCI 2898 is currently doing an off peak run on the SIM1C!
