  1. I'm sure NYP sees far more LIRR riders and trains than Amtrak riders/trains so that's one reason it should stay in this subforum.
  2. You mean that little light on the side of the car? I think that's an dead motor light. I notice those lights regularly on the CI Yard assigned R46s as well.
  3. I think ethier 1804 or 1808 or both were scrapped when the Nassau County bus system was still ran by the MTA. One of those buses got T boned by a vehicle at high speed.
  4. I don't see the point of UP getting NG hybrids, the oldest buses at Ulmer is the 4800s which is newer than the NG hybrids. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see NGs at Ulmer as an busfan though..
  5. I think hes saying that for the younger posters, the R179s are the first orders that they aware of, as they might have been really young when the 160s were coming in.
  6. North Jersey/NYC residents can now use the app to buy Light Rail tickets!
  7. 6792, 6807, 6814. 6815 scrap. 6798, 6823, 6843 scrap
  8. IIRC New Flyer still makes parts for Orion and NABI buses. Bee Line's O-V are around the same age as the MTA Orion OG's and all of Bee Line Orions are still running AFAIK. Objectively speaking, from a passenger prospective the Orion OG/NG at their current age are equally comfortable as the XD40s IMO. OG's might be a disaster behind the scenes but they got me from Point A to point B comfortably many times in recent years. Living in ENY service area I legit cannot think of a reason to dislike the Orions and favor the XD40s and vice versa. I don't think the average rider cares about the age of the bus as long as it gets them from point A to point B.
  9. As a kid I always thought I95 was via the NJ Turnpike from the GWB to a Delaware Memorial Bridge. Was surprised to find there's an I-95 gap in Jersey. My family on two separate occasions made a wrong turn on 95 N/B in Delaware and ended up in Philly rather than South Jeresy via the Delaware Bridge haha.
  10. I wonder if the Orion hybrids were diesel would they still be in service. Perhaps the TA was having trouble maintaining that hybrid powertrain hence their early demise.
  11. 6809 is parked in the scrap yard at ECH, so at least one of the ENY 6800s is scrap.
  12. Went by ECH on I-95 and man it's weird to see 3××× MCI and MTA Bus hybrids in the scrap lot.
  13. Got an R142 train today, probably 142A's on the as well cause of an G.O. love these G.O's where the and get cut off from there home yards, cause we get R62A trains and R142/142A trains
  14. She got shot in the face but her injuries are non life threatening according to channel 4 news. What crazy is the bullet went though the back of the bus rather than a window. I also am a member of Blink fitness, but I go a different Blink gym though. Excellent gym for only 15 bucks a month. Haven't been back since the pandemic started, last time I went was in March, and boy I feel it, get gassed walking walking up subway stairs at certain stations when it was rather easy when I was regularly attending the gym.
  15. Buses occasionally go back to the vendor after they have entered service, so it's possible 9503 is still assigned to Grand Ave its just JFK vendor getting work done. I remember the old rosters used to show all the buses from a depot at a vendor at a particular time.
  16. I think this is a different switch, the switch in the post you quoted is the switch between the Flushing and Astoria lines. The switch that been acting up the past couple days is the X switch right outside the 60th street tunnel.
  17. 70 year old woman hit by stray bullet from outside the bus, hope shes ok.
  18. A flexible New Look with slightly different window specs?
  19. The museum train the went through Montague tube after the rebuild wasn't in service when it happened. It was an test run that put an gash on the side of an Arine in the ceiling area, or so I heard.
  20. Nice diversity on the shuttle today. Every borough except Manhattan is working the shuttle today, even CP and LGA! Got an LFS from SI, nice.
  21. Yes, but all pre R46 cars are retired so it makes no sense to spend money to fix this issue.
  22. A couple weeks ago I caught the 2014-2015 Prevost bus with the screens, they weren't on though... IIRC, this is the only express bus (Other than 023) with next stop screens.
  23. Anybody know if those two sets of M3s are still stored at Long Beach? if they are, at least one set can be easily photographed from the platforms.. Here's an pic of an M3 from over the summer, I wasn't looking for it, I was in Long Beach for well, the beach lol and the M3 just happened to be there. I was quite happy to see them.
