Today on the B17, a bunch of kids in a summer camp with their chaperones got on the bus, filled an fairly empty the bus all the way up. I've seen summer camps on the subway many times but this is my first time seeing them on the bus.

The and lines are a mess rn, train hit a shopping cart at Fulton Street which somehow knocked out service in both directions. Got caught up in it too.

Saw it today, someone changed the sign to the IRL this train looks very cartoonish, gonna take some time getting used to.

7297 is running on the B42 with FP stickers

ENY gotta be short on operators today as there's only four buses on the B42 right now in the middle of rush hour, usually during rush hour theres more buses than that on the line. There was a large gap in service too, had to wait like 20 minutes for a bus. No mention of this on NYCT Bus but service advisory like this probably slip though the cracks from time to time.

The dead pixel is probably a teething issue, I wouldn't sweat it. When the R160s were new the FIND used to get stuck all the time and that rarely happens now.

Wow, the OGs are outliving some of the NGs! I thought they would want to retire all or most of the OGs before they started scrapping NGs, not complaining as I like the OGs slightly more than the NGs

Rode an ex SI NG on the M104 today, it seemed to be in decent shape, I always thought those ex SI NGs would be beat to a plup + running damn near the entire length of Manhattan on those long MTV routes for a few months now would make things worse. With NGs already being sent to ECH scrap I wonder what the future holds for those 4200s that came from SI, scrap or sent to another depot, the milage on those buses gotta be sky high at this point.

Buses from the three ongoing orders past though 5th ave, Nova hybrids (MTV routes) XDE40s (M1) and the new Prevosts on the ECH routes. If buses from those orders were in the area at the time maybe that's what they were photographing. With that being said, I rarely ever see buffs with actual cameras these days, most of the time they use their phone for photos & videos. Years ago fanners ethier had an DSLR or a mid level point and shoot. I thought most buffs would perfer real cameras over phones for the higher quality footage.

The dude who uploaded that AAS test video has a pinned comment saying they have the same automated announcements as the R160s. Kinda bummed about that as I kinda wanted the text to speech announcements the mockup had only because it would have been something different. I guess it's easier to keep certain things uniform with the older tech trains like when the automated announcements need to be updated.

I'm on the Q35 and a drunk dude is laid out across the rear seats sleep, first time I ever seen something like this on the bus Haha

Theres two pairs of R42's at ENY lower level today...

The M9s are slow, even an engineer who operated them admitted they are slow. IDK why they are perfomance downgrade from the M7s and even a well maintained M3, but it is what it is. They are reliable as they have excellent MDBF, they just accelerate poorly. Crazy the oldest MUs in the Tri State (NJT Arrows) easily are the fastest accelerating MU in the region which is sad.

From all the media footage I seen the past couple of days, it seems like 2000 is the only Gillig in service so far.

The pilot R179 cars were delivered to 207th then towed to Pikin, they never went to CI until later on in the testing process.

The comment section of that video says that the lyrics have the same announcements as the R160s, can anyone confirm this? The mockup had a text to speech type voice like on the buses. I think it makes for interesting discussion as to how they set the train up for service IMO. If the R211s are in CI inspection barn and not the overhaul shop, then you can see them by looking out the side of an Manhattan bound train as CI barn always have the doors up so you can see the trains inside the barn. That is if an 46/68/160 isn't being inspected on the same track the 211s are parked on.

Looks like NYPD is enforcing the fare again as they tazed someone who opened the gate for another rider at a station in Harlem. Also I personally seen cops giving farebeaters tickets recently. Surprised they started enforcing the fare again while DeBiasio is still in office. I thought they would wait until Eric Adams term to start to end the work slowdown.
