  1. This google bus roster is updated regularly.. https://sites.google.com/site/mtanewyorkcitybusroster/new-york-city-bus-roster/east-new-york-bus-depot-new-york-city-transit?authuser=0
  2. They are probably doing the bare minimum to keep the R46s running since they will be retired soon. ENY did the same thing to the R42s when the R160s first came there. Bringing R32s back won't help much since those are even worse than the 46s are, R32s and their worn door systems.. Everytime I been on an R32 with mechanical problems it's always the doors or the train not giving indication. All they need to do is get on top of that dead motor problem plaguing the CI R46s and the cars should be fine otherwise. Read elsewhere of 46s consists stugging to climb the incline on the MannyB due to multiple dead motors in the consist. BTW the R68A, the youngest B div SMEE fleet and the vast majority of them are on the their MDBF is barely higher than the R46s MDBF, so putting R46s on the wouldn't solve anything. EDIT: R68A MDBF shot up towards the end of this year while earlier this year it was nearly neck and neck with the R46s.
  3. Today for the first time in a while I fanned the B41 from Downtown to Flatbush (use to do this on fridays all the time during my high school years) was a pretty decent ride, had an Orion NG. Today for the first time ever I seen an B41 short turn to Atlantic Ave. Also short turns at Empire Blvd seem a lot more popular than they was back then. Was two FLA buses on layover at Empire Blvd, never seen that before. Parkside to Church Ave is still as congested as it was back then lol
  4. Wild seeing people in MTA vests hemming people up, second guy doesn't seem like a railfan just some random dude. Private security for an TM trip I'm LMAO
  5. What's crazy is the transit hobby is a "nerdy" hobby yet this hobby has so many people that misbehave. As an 30 year old millenial, growing up in school the nerds were well behaved and it was usually the cool kids with the edge to them. Wonder with these Gen Z kids that even the nerds are wilding out these days. Extra police presence needed for an event for such an nerdy hobby, feels crazy even typing that lol.
  6. R32 special train signed up as the 145th Street/Second Ave on their rollsigns.. They are also was refittted with a whistle rather than an horn.
  7. I did not, feels like pass orders we weren't stuck on the pilot bus testing stage this long.
  8. The delays with this particular XD40 order is so annoying, with all the X series buses the TA ordered from NF prior to 7851 arriving why can't NF get this particular bus right, bus been a pliot since the summer and were almost in 2022 SMH.
  9. I'm surprised that the TA didn't decide to not buy CNG buses ever again and buy electrics to replace the C40s when their time comes. All of the CNG depots in the system except for maybe JG are fairly modern so maybe that would make them easier to refit for electric operations?
  10. The two phase two pairs already set aside for the TM... seems like they never ran outside of CI Yard since they was retired about an decade ago. Would be nice if they dusted them off and ran on these trips. I understand why they never used them on trips while the R32 was an active fleet. Also mechanically Phase two R32s were inferior to the Phase one cars but the phase two cars that are saved have historical significance which is why they are still around.
  11. Well this thread took an odd turn.. some random employee of another rail system is going places on NYCT property he doesn't belong and what does MTA do? Swap the R1-9s with R32s??? The second tweet seems like some internal MTA drama that an Twitter page leaked to the public. I'm am so lost as to how these two situations are connected.. And plenty of boomers/older railfans will attend these trips, R32s debuted in 1964, that was an long time ago. If they wanted to to keep older railfans away they would run an R160 decked out in Christmas decorations as an Holiday train with some random celebrity doing specialized automated announcements.
  12. Bus is still there with two Tow trucks, one MTA truck and another from an private contractor. Anyone got pics of the front or know how damaged the front of the bus is? I was too lazy go over there and look plus my shuttle bus was fairly empty with lots of seats (didn't want to stand)
  13. So that's why I saw a bus parked on the sidewalk in that area!
  14. If FR gets them... should be fun riding LFS on the Q35.
  15. That incident wasn't the trains fault, train didn't suffer damage either so that can't be the reason. IMO it's an odd choice cause the Arines have more appeal to non railfans than R32s do. The non railfan photographers doing period pieces photoshoots with models, the bands, the ceiling fans, the unique seats, the "awe" factor from regular riders etc. R32s are quite bland in comparison.
  16. I wonder why they replaced the holiday train Arines with R32s? Over the years I've ridden R32s on most of the trackage these final runs will travel over except for Broadway and SAS. I remember the R32 train in 2005 and the R32 train during my high school years.
  17. Wow, couldn't ask for a better send off for a subway car fleet, how fitting the final run will be on an South Brooklyn BMT line.. right where they started.
  18. In response to your second point, the 04-07 MCIs weren't scheduled to be retired when the 2015 prevosts came in.
  19. I feel the same way (C40s being the best built buses in the fleet) I think structurally they are built to CTA specs and not MTA specs which may have something to do with it. I ride the SC C40s regularly and I have yet to ride one that rattles.
  20. If the whole Hudson Pier sticker ordeal caused this, surprised to see the TA take depot sticker tampering seriously, I thought management would hear about it and say, foamers gonna foam and just shrug it off.
  21. Just saw on the news, NYC is the most congested city in the U.S and 5th overall in the world. This effects bus service if you wondering why I decided to post this in the bus random thoughts thread.
  22. Weekday ridership may not be back 100% but I'm pretty sure weekend ridership is completely back, or close to it, trains were packed today! QBP is closer to the tunnel than Queens Plaza, and has an straight shot into the tunnel where's the has curves.
