  1. I believe SC and CP already have block heater cords for their buses so they start easier in cold weather, so refitting these depots to electric operation should be easy considering how those depots are setup. TA should never buy CNG buses ever again, send all electric buses to CNG depots. I like CNG buses as a buff but you can only swap them between four depots not to mention the time limit on the tanks, etc. Electrics will make things easier in that regard.
  2. 3552-3553 is an phase two pair that was set aside for the museum, I guess the TM doesn't want that pair anymore.
  3. I know this is late pass but NYC to Albany and Hoboken to Port Jervis routes are in the steam workshop. The Hoboken - Port Jervis route can be found by typing in "Bergen Line" in the search bar. I'd like to see the NYC - Philly NEC corridor redone as it's kind of an mess and unrealistic stops for the Amtrak services. And the route is unusable in quick drive mode. Luckily the Trenton - NYC was redone which is good for NJT trains, have a bunch of NEC and NJCL runs downloaded from the workshop.
  4. I didn't hear about this, thanks for posting. I'm assuming vandals set that train on fire.
  5. There was an weekday recently where the was running 8 minute headways rather than the usual 4-5 minute headway. Most likely due to the crew storage.
  6. I had no idea the Nova vendor center was in Hoboken. I always thought it was in an isolated area in the industrial part of Jeresy. Considering that I don't see much fanner footage of the Nova vendor like I do of the New Flyer vendor in JFK Airport, I don't think many people knew this either.
  7. I got caught in one of those storms where they suspended all outdoor service (I live in Canarsie so Rockaway Parkway is my home station) so I had to walk home in a snow storm, from Liberty Ave on the to where I live. THAT storm was bad, this storm for NYC isn't gonna be as bad as that storm was. From the most recent forecasts I saw NYC is getting 7 inches so they should be able to provide service safely without risking people getting stranded. Of course the buses might have delays. LIRR is shutting down tomorrow which I agree with that considering Long Island is forecasted to get hit hard by the storm.
  8. Tomorrow's snow loans should be interesting now that we have XDE40s & Nova Hybrids in the fleet. I expect a lot of fanners out and about tomorrow getting footage of said snow loans. MTA twitter is being a tad bit dramatic urging people to stay home and not use the system during the storm. Based on the forecasts I saw for NYCT/MTA Bus service area I doubt this storm will cripple the system and force outright suspensions, will see I guess.
  9. Never seen them post this before (revenue trains running with delays due to slow work trains) I seen one of those snow blowers passing though Hoyt S/B towards Pikin? with a diesel.
  10. Seen an YouTube video of an mixed R143/R160 set in a yard transfer. Both sets were operational. This is an interesting development as maybe we will now see mixed NTT sets in passenger service with different car classes. As we all know the yards with multiple NTT car classes like ENY and Jerome keep their tech train fleets separate, maybe this will change in the near future...?
  11. After having the game for nearly a year, I FINALLY got the train simulator M2 to move, didn't know you had to hold down the right side of your mouse to move the camera to put the master key in the console, THEN set the train set up for movement. The M2 is the ONLY Metro North rolling stock in the game where you have to do this... I got the M7 to move on the first try... I got the M8 to move on the first try.. I got the P32DM to move on the first try... But these damn M2s? Couldn't do it until I realized you can move the camera around the cab by holding down the right side of the mouse... first run first I did was from New Caanan to Stamford. This train is VERY well done, kudos to the people who created it. To anyone here who plays this game or is lurking and couldn't get this train to move, I hope this helps. Here's some screenshots..
  12. Its not an waste cause those cars are never returning to passenger service. Most likely its buff employees taking them from the cars. TA probably doesn't care about some rollsigns in a car that's not apart of the museum fleet that's been retired for nearly 20 years now.
  13. Putting an station on the Hell Gate Bridge viaduct seems like an engineering nightmare, no idea how they would pull this off. I'm NOT an expert, just speculating, but looking at the structure... HOW are they going to build this station exactly. It would have to be near where the Amtrak line merges with the LIRR I'd imagine.
  14. You can't find proof because its most likely parked at ECH Scrap in an area it can't be easily photographed.
  15. YES! They are considering a light rail option!!!!!! They better not make this no BRT/SBS BS, buses suck, every major transportation project from here on out should be rail, PERIOD!
  16. Dual Modes running on the Ronkonkoma line off peak, nice! Sometimes I wish the LIRR used the dual modes off peak more often, in an perfect world ethier Speonk or Port Jeff would have an one seat ride off peak to NYP. I hope the LIRR considers this whenever they get replacements for the DM30 locomotives. I loved that service change a few years ago where Dual Modes ran between NYP and Port Jeff on a weekend.
  17. Don't mayors have security so how does he feel unsafe? You try to get anywhere near Adams I'm sure his security would handle the situation before anyone could lay an finger on him. I can totally understand the common person not feeling safe on the subway, but a politician with security? Come on man...
  18. Astoria would never go for only having the serving it during the week so the stays...
  19. Got lucky and caught my second ride ever on an XE60, those buses are so smooth, it's like the bus is gliding on air... Smoothest running bus I think I ever been on.
  20. Today the train in front of mine, an NTT, had an mechanical problem at Bedford Ave and had to be removed from service. Held up the line too, my had to wait at Lorimer Street for serveral minutes while they got the defective train out of the way. I saw it going NIS Canarsie bound with the lights off while it heads to ENY yard to get repaired. Also rode an train this evening when the would be running and man when that train left Essex Street it was far more crowded than normal. I know riders along that corridor are really missing the right now
  21. There was an shooting ON a BX39 bus earlier, no one was hit so no one was hurt, 5791 was the unit.
  22. From what I understand, yes. Did some digging and some of the extra M8s have been delivered but they aren't in service yet.
  23. I don't think the extra M8s have even been delivered yet. With the M8s they have they don't have enough to cover both Metro North service and SLE service, those extra M8s are needed.
  24. What was the numbers of the second R32 set? Was it the two pairs already apart of the TM collection?
  25. I hope the 's equipment will be put onto the N/Q lines and the worst performing R46s can be put into storage until whenever service can be restored.. In a perfect foamer world the fleet would be split between Pikin & CI Haha, don't mind me I just kinda wanna see R68/68As on the line full time Both 8th Ave and Broadway corridors being a mix of 46s & 68s ohhhh that would be great! But I doubt it as 68s on the would be an pain in the ass but for dispatcher at 207th, so keep the line 46s and 179s for the time being.
