  1. The 9/25 R46 Transfer/Retirement/Hold Report from the NYCTST Discord Server:
  2. I feel like this set might be paired with 4345-4349 for burn-in testing.
  3. Maybe those cars could be part of 4335-4339? I haven’t heard a lot about the status of that set lately.
  4. Taking into consideration the fact that the shares two trains of R179’s with the (which leaves 11 trains for service), the could technically become fully NTT as early as when it receives its next 1-2 trains of R211’s. There are currently 28 trains of R211’s on the , and adding 11 trains of R179’s makes for a total of 39 NTT’s for the .
  5. As someone who takes the and on a regular basis, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is true. I myself have been seeing at most 1-2 sets of R46’s on the while heading home; this number used to be higher. Does anyone know the exact number of trains needed for the , including spares?
  6. And this means there are 160 R211A cars left to complete the R211A part of the base order! Hopefully the becomes fully NTT by early next year…
  7. R142A cars 7731-7810 were built under a supplemental contract between 2004 and 2005 to supplement the rest of the R142A's which were built between 1999 and 2002. In the unlikely event that the MTA chooses to negotiate with Kawasaki for another option, they would probably do something similar and order some additional R211's under a supplemental contract after OO2.
  8. I don’t think we’ll see any official scrap moves until the MTA thinks there’s a sufficient amount of R211’s in service to consider the R46 fleet “done.” As for when the scrap moves will start happening, my guess is sometime in early 2025.
  9. 4345-4349 were testing on the West End Line earlier today. They even signed it up as a to 161st Street.
  10. Not sure if it’s just me, but as someone who takes the and trains home from school a lot, I’ve recently started to observe fewer R46’s on the . Has this been the case for anyone else?
  11. That I do not know, but I saw on Discord that two unknown R211 cars were being delivered through New Jersey yesterday, so we'll just have to wait and see what their numbers are. In other news, R211S cars 105-109 were seen testing on the SIR mainline. Credits to the original owner of the photos below:
  12. All cars up to 4329 are in service. 4330-4334 is coupled with 4340-4344 and that set hasn't entered service yet.
  13. Hopefully someone figures out a solution to the clearance problems with the R211T on the express track; if not, then I think OO2 would either be all R211A, or they could just run the R211T’s on local routes like the and if they still want the order to be R211T.
