  1. Also, a lot of time the newer buses have to be sent back for vendor work. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  5. Interesting. What made them change their mind? For shuttle perhaps? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  6. Yes! It was my first guess. I remember someone saying here that they rarely use the switch at 86th st and rather turn the trains around at 125th st. Why won't they use a switch that's more convenient for them, may I ask? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  7. How much ridership does that portion of the see anyway? I think we could put enough 40 footers and several artics and make a good enough shuttle. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  8. I think the issue is only a few of the operators at GA can drive them. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  9. If it's CP they're going to do, they're already short on buses and some are still getting a new paint job. Today, I already saw 3738 from LGA do the Q65. SC only has lots of C40LF's, hopefully MTA doesn't take too many out that it disrupts service. Also, I hope it's the same company as the ones on the LFSA's, they're pretty good, except they keep revising the ones on the Q44 and the transfers seem to go downhill and there's an imaginary stop going s/b at e177st/ bx rvr py. Also, why is it mapped differently there, even on BusTime, buses make the u-turn towards the end of the service road and make a sharp left to get back on cross bronx srvc rd. 10. There's a train with mech. problems at lex-ave 59th st on the bway line. Is it another R46? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  11. To add on, why have they been scrapping the D60's, use them for shuttle work and after feel free to toss them. The CNG's run the risk, but D60's don't, seems like MTA shot themselves in the foot or dug a bigger hole. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  12. Can't they just pull extra buses from various depots and call it a day? Like whatever isn't being used but enough for the rush. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  13. The 8-car set of R179's is out testing in the Rockaways right now. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  14. Now the B44 SBS I have ridden and the bus lanes I think played a major part in improving bus flow along with off board payment ofc. For the most part, it was quite steady along Rogers and few deliveries if any. We bypassed a B49, which was crushloaded. There's also the short-turns that were introduced to end at Flushing Ave and Ave U, both of which I find quite helpful. In the afternoon, ridership tends to die towards the north and south terminals, but I can definitely see an increase in passenger activity during peak periods. My bus driver was able to floor it from Flushing Ave to Williamsburg Plz, the ridership levels fluctuated in coordination with the B44 local in the graphs but that can be attributed to the sidewalk construction work. Thanks for the info, ENY.[emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  15. I just read the entire thing. Not bad, personally I haven't ridden the M86 SBS. Looks like it's certainly improving for the most part. Is it possible that we could get more of these route analyses mainly for the SBS corridors(Q44, plz). Pretty interesting for the most part. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  19. So which is it? Training or damage repair or both? How the heck has it already been damaged? Damn NYC. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  21. A lot of the 4900's have them. Jamaica has lower 4900's and ENY has higher ones. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  22. Technically MTA put orders in for both sets of buses. Never got to use the EPA10's. The rest belongs to NICE. I'm just taking an educated guess. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  24. This reminds me of a funny story. So they closed off a car on the line. We were heading toward TSQ. The real trouble happened when we got to Junction Blvd. Whoever was closing down the car forgot to lock the other side as well. So the doors opened on that side since it's an island platform station and until we got to 82nd st-jackson hgts, someone alerted the conductor and I don't think the conductor was in that car, otherwise she could unlock the cab door but she went around from the 6th car to the 4th car to unlock the storm door. The people in that car were straight chilling before they realized they were trapped in that car, so it makes you wonder why do they close off the cars? Caused quite a few delays that day and we made battery runs to the end of the line. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  25. I feel like it's either 86th st on the , or Sterling St or Beverly Rd on the , , Wall St , , 145th street or 168th street Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
