  2. Is it going to last longer than the other 2011 models then? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  3. I have to agree with JG as the worst depot. I was waiting for the B35 at Sunset Pk and an Orion VII CNG sits there for a very long time. It was a B35, then a C40LF shows up and takes the next run. Now on the C40LF B35, the Orion Vii CNG passes us not in service and makes a left on 5th Avenue(depot). 4. Why is CS getting LFSA's from Flatbush for? Is Flatbush getting something in return? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  5. Man how do they bring back 8017, it survived a mattress fire and I'm pretty sure it was serious, the backend was charred af, prob wanted to keep the 2011 series all together. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  9. A lot of the time, they leave them on during the night at the yards, they should tell their conductors to turn them off. I believe it leads to many failures of the signs if they are always on. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  10. So wait, they get blackback's now? I thought the hip trend was white. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  11. Does anyone know if the 2 R46's from earlier this month have been placed back into service? The train incident, and the breakdown? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  12. Now this is a post I can fully agree with. The XD60's are shiny and new but that's the end of that. The annoying brake interlock and the whining really gets on your nerves. Those bus operators have become pros when it comes to handling the LFSA, that's really the only vehicle they operate and they can haul serious ass. The HVAC roar is awesome along with the occasional engine backfire.May I ask what portion of the route you were riding in? I know the Main St corridor south of Downtown Flushing is really where it shines, but there is also a 20mph curve coming off the Whitestone Br that ops take at like 40 mph. 14. 7509 would be the second car, the set is 7501-7510, so it's prob 7510. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  15. Okay. How does that even happen? Don't they listen to these a few times before releasing it? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  16. However, there is one small problem with off board payment is that five second window of when it displays that "Thank You" message, no one needs it first of all and quickly change to the goddamn start screen so I can insert the Metrocard. At hectic bus stops like a subway transfer or even a bus transfer, you have many people coming all out at once and everybody wants to get to their destination and those seconds sure add up per passenger. The further you are at the end of the line, the greater your chances are of missing the bus. However, I do agree that people should be getting their tickets if they decide to ride SBS, many passengers at my stop are making the choice to get it either way but when a local counterpart comes, they dip their metro card........, just hand the receipt to the driver, most will understand. 17. If you're surprised at that, then go on Youtube and search for "canarsie bound trains@Broadway Junction", the first two videos should show you how close they can get. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  18. A lot of MTA bus op's are very accommodating, if u tell them they will let you off at the following stops to get your ticket. However, the official rule is ride to your destination and get the ticket there. But lets be honest it's a free trip at that rate cause who would be willing to fork over money when you already got to your destination and can walk away scot-free. Anyways, be sure to take a picture with ur phone of the oos machines to prove you were at those stops and a lot of them have these reflective panels so be sure to include yourself and the machine id numbers. 19. I think the bus will be able to resume service. Anybody know what the things on the side are, the yellow things that stick out on the side at the rear of the bus? They've been installing them at a lot of Brooklyn depots. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  20. One time I was on a Q34, the bus was heading northbd from Jamaica. The bus op was supposed to do another Q25 back but the dispatcher gave him the Q34 cause there was a delay in 34's. He got to Main St because well the 25 basically covers it. But he forgot everything after the right turn from linden place. I basically directed him to 26th ave and everybody was already off and I believe he was gonna deadhead back to the depot. I told him the directions and said bye. He was a newbie but I kinda scratched me head at his situation because a lot of CP driver routes interline and how would you not remember the 25/34, they share the same timetable too. I think he was a newbie and I think a lot of newbies train on the 34(well, maybe the flushing to whitestone shuttle), so how did he not know the route? 21. They don't have any CNG buses in the museum fleet because the CNG tanks expire, right? It would be a PITA to replace it? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  22. Currently on an R42 , does not sound happy to be alive. Creaking and moaning every speed bump or curve or brake, honestly the R32's sound happier. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  24. Really? Three different routes for basically the same line except a portion. I think the lone portions of the M14A and M14D are gonna see a reduction in service especially if they can't interline driver schedules between SBS and local. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
