  1. Yep. We have 20 96’ in service. 4 97’ were put in storage recently so the rest shld be 98-99’s. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  2. No, I don’t think anyone has ever thought to convert it. It gets decent ridership but service is either sub-par or below or the buses tend to bunch easily creating severe service gaps. Many skip the fare as is so maybe SBS can change that. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  3. Due to switch problems at 14 St-Union Sq, northbound 6 Subway trains are running express from Brooklyn Bridge City Hall to Grand Central-24 St. Lol 24th street. Sent from my iPad using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  4. Imagine a scenario where a bus operator pulls into the terminal late. The 2nd bus pulls in on time. On the return trip, should the late bus stop at the first stop and tell passengers it will run non-stop to some other point along the line. The current set-up is the late bus hauls ass to somewhere down the line NIS carrying no passengers at all which I think screws over people waiting at the first stop of the line the most. If they all crowd on one bus, the delays will only spiral out of control. This is sort of like something the subways does but the scenario would only work for buses at terminals, having people switch buses mid-route is a hassle and I’ve seen it done before but the dispatcher just moves all the passengers from one bus to the more crowded one. 5. Dude that’s as fast as it could possibly be. Well, its prob gonna crawl through the work zones so nvm. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  6. But there was no police blocking the road when he detoured, granted, he prob would’ve been informed by depot supervision but he didn’t tell us the reason why he was detouring. Where else is a passenger supposed to get the information if not from the MTA website nor the driver? How do I know he’s not just pulling something on riders so he can make up for lost time? Passengers seemed pretty confused about the whole ordeal so some extra info would’ve been nice to have. If the times don’t mean anything, why bother having the info? Why put it on the website immediately when the event begins and not a few hours before to inform passengers of such changes? Therefore it prevents situations like this. 8. Actually it happened around 3, and I checked the website during the detour and nothing. So yea I do have a reason to be suspicious. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  9. My B37 driver just pulled some jank shit by going via 2nd Avenue instead of 3rd. I dont think this was a planned detour, he was prob just late. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  12. Yea. When we drive off I was like wtf? We could’ve just pulled up closer to the curb. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  13. Nope. Also, is it possible that any single MTA bus in its entire career has never picked up a wheelchair passenger? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  14. I think its a GH unit.4710-4754? Are all KB and 4755-4799 are GH I believe. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  15. If they were to send a via Lower Manhattan, in the s/b direction, would it be possible to clear it out at Canal street and move it to the city hall yard underneath? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  16. I remember one time we had to leave a wheelchair passenger at a stop because the bus operator didn’t pull up to the curb. There were 2 Bx26’s operating back to back. First one was full to the brim but the second one pulled up away from the curb. When the first one pulled off, the second operator was like sry man, you gotta wait for the next one. I was just thinking why didn’t he pull up closer to the curb. The wheelchair guy was cursing out the bus driver and you could hear it as we drove off. 17. Would that lead to a fleet swap between the and ? Cuz BMT Eastern Div. can’t handle R68/A. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  19. Sry not ad, I meant a banner for the roadeo winner. Looking back, I could see how it could stir up some confusion. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  20. I don't think they want to cover up the wrap/paint, it would be a waste for them to wrap/paint the buses and place ads all over it. Also 4140 from jfk also has one on the left side behind the drivers area. Sent from my iPad using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  21. Huh. Read through part of your post and I saw the puzzle pieces fit together almost perfectly. Wont there be a lot of R32s that don’t see service then, the uses a lot of R32s, will the displaced 160s alone cover it? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  22. I have personal anecdote to share that happened a few days ago but I forgot about it because the train took so damn long, I was just relieved when it got there. Anyway, here it is: I'm standing at Broad Channel n/b direction waiting for the in the open-air part of the platform. There is a MTA cleaner walking by sweeping up some stuff, then she gets up to this plastic bag which I didn't even think had anything in it. Then she uncovers the bag, to which I see a box of Cocoa Puffs with a milk carton with half the milk left inside. I'm thinking to myself "Oh someone must've done a grocery run and just gotten thirsty and drank some milk and got on the train, maybe he forgot it". Then she takes the bag away and there sits a ceramic bowl filled with chocolate milk, (Choco puffs and milk) with a metal spoon. Like what? Was someone kicked out of the house last night and only managed to grab the cereal and milk. Hangover food? Saw the cleaner walking away shaking her head in disgust. 25. Interesting, on an unrelated note, someone has asked about this before, I’m morbidly curious about those RTS sitting in the Casey Stengel depot. Can anyone shed some light on them? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
