I saw 5058 slowly moving along the Whitestone Br, anybody know what happened? It had a state trooper escorting behind.

He controls the sensors. He presses for the sensors to activate and if they detect no one there, they will close. Clearly, they’re controlled by the driver because I’ve sat at stops with the back doors open with no one in the way. So the bus doesn’t just open and close its doors automatically.

Just be patient. We’re all waiting. I’m sure when someone has news on the first 30-day revenue trip. They will be more than happy to share it with us.

I’m wondering if the R160 contract got as much coverage as this contract. MTA is in deeper waters now.

I wish they could just keep them at CS. In my opinion, they’re better than the XD60s. Even unwrapping and placing them on local routes wouldn’t be too bad like the Q12 but for maintenance reasons, gotta go.

I'm pretty sure for all SBS routes except the S79, there's an upward trend in revenue for the first few months and then it steadies off. Kids/teens still ride free as long as they can produce student ID.

They shld show it to the operator if they do want to board. The DOT employees (or interns or volunteers...idk) shld tell passengers you can board the local with the SBS receipt. The operator either waves them on or takes the receipt and puts it into the bus transfer holder.
