  1. 6005 seems to have gone missing in the latest TTMG update, still at CS.
  2. Would it be possible to Frankenstein an XD60 from an 2011 XD60 (#47xx) and a 2016 or newer XD60 (#6xxx) if their respective counterparts got into an accident? I hear for the most part they are the same bus model but one is more computerized. And a follow up similar question, is it feasible for a NovaBus 1st gen LFSA and a Smart bus gen to do the same?
  3. Gun Hill's maintenance never disappoints /s Happened back approx. April 2019
  4. I thought MTA was locked by law or something in the legislation to pick the lowest bid.
  5. I believe it caught on fire and could not be repaired. Or even if they can repair it, it's more than halfway done with it's useful life.
  6. Silk Road filed for bankruptcy??? How are new train cars being delivered? LOL
  7. I feel like if they just electrified all of Port Jeff branch, it would help alleviate many issues. Frees up the diesel equipment. Only Oyster Bay and Montauk would need diesel equipment. Heck, I feel they don't even have to double track the damn thing, trains can wait at 2-platform stations if they need to pass through. They could run more service out there. Port Jeff should have one island platform for 2 trains to platform either side.
  8. I think at this point, whatever scheduled diesel was east of Babylon would get diverted to Central Branch just to reduce congestion on Babylon branch. But besides that they prob have a really small spare factor with the diesels so I would be surprised if they would advertise that passengers knowing full well they dont have the equipment nor the crews to operate such services. Most they can do in this instance is prob shuttle between Hicksville and Babylon and tell pax to transfer at Hicksville to EMU’s but it’s really ineffective.
  9. Turns out it wasn’t all MTA buses, NICE Bus was doing a part of the shuttle and Coach USA got a slice as well.
  10. Okay, I thought it was a separate statement from the one above, no idea he was referring to that specific run. I thought it was unusual either way knowing that all the Alstom sets transferred maybe save one for CBTC along Culver.
  11. Jamaica set on the (Q)? I think you mean #8792?
  12. What exactly is a seized communication door?
  13. What companies do they contract the bustitution out to?
  14. SMH this guy can't even recognize what he despises, even if it causes emotional/psychological warfare
  15. It has been in service for a few years now. It’s truly remarkable what those guys at Eastchester??? Or Zerega??? do. It has a lot less milage compared to the rest of the batch but bus is still in service. The mattress thing is old news back when the 8000’s were transferred to SI.
  16. Apparently, they only scan tickets with the amber bar above the ticket at least according to the conductor I was speaking to. My conductor couldn’t get his mobile device to get a connection cause he said his printer wasn’t connecting. He tried to scan my ticket a few times but no dice. It might just be a few kinks to work out. When I transferred trains, the conductor’s scanner worked just fine.
  17. Heard one of the museum bigwigs say this was lowkey a test of whats to come for the R32 retirement which will most likely be in March or April, might be even pushed back as this run was supposed to happen a few weeks ago but the R179’s got sidelined.
  18. Conductors only give a damn about the zones, nothing else. When they give you a seat check, they punch the zone on there or rip the top off, so they know you're not going the full distance. When they come around to collect tickets for the new pax, they scan seat checks to see if anyone rode past their zone. Simple, archaic system and works for the most part only if the train isn't packed like sardines.
  19. Does this hold as a retirement farewell for the R42's? They still have that one set parked in ENY.
